The
67th meeting of the class of “41” took
place at Adornetto’s Restaurant in
Zanesville on July 26, 2008. Pictures to come soon!
Rest in
peace- "Buzz"
Buzz as pilot- World
War II
We will
also be remembering a genuine war hero, Bill
"Buzz" Burlingame, a fighter pilot in the Pacific
and European theaters, who passed away Feb 2008.
Thanks
to all the class members in Zanesville for their
contributions in carrying out the execution of the
successful 65 Reunion October 14, 2006. Our leader from
Columbus, Dick Harpo Smith has a special relationship with the owners of Adornetto's Resturant.
As a
result, those members who attended the 65th Reunion had
nothing but praise for this memorable event. Dick's
daughter, Sandy Moorhead sent the following review of her
experience that day.
"I
am Dick Smith's daughter and I helped work the REUNION AND
LET ME TELL YOU it was a GREAT time had by all. I believe
there was about 55 class members and spouses in attendance.
Jerry Zwelling was the MASTER of the Hour and WHIZ
interviewed him then scanned the participants and the event
was viewed that same evening on WHIZ TV at 11PM.
They
visited, they ate...The music was great and then they
visited some more. These Classmates, around 83 years old and
let me tell you most are in better shape than I am at 60.
They are a great group to be around and show great POSITIVE
ENERGY. It was a pleasure and honor to be a part of their
Reunion."
~~Sandy Moorhead.
Kudos to
Martha Thorla and Dorothy Factor who have always been there
for all of our previous Reunions over the past 65 years for
ZHS41... Thanks to the Photo Contributors: lliansteve@msn.com,
and dustyspelsberg@hotmail.com.
Future
reunions may be every 2 years rather than annually. Due
to the increasing difficulties of travel among some former classmates, there has been some discussion on moving the
Reunion to very 2 years rather than annually. Will keep you
posted on the outcome.

The purpose of starting this website is to provide a Worldwide connection
for members of the 1941 class of Lash High School, in Zanesville, Ohio,
and to help organize our reunion activities.
You can help by sending the following information
by US Mail or e-mail:
Send us a short narrative of what you've been
doing for the past 5 to 10 years
Send in any pictures past and present that you
think will be useful
Send us any artifacts or memorabilia that
captures out history
Send any stories or reminiscences of those
great past times
We came of age during some tumultuous times. It
was 1941, the Germans were overrunning North Africa and Greece, America
was still in the throes of the Great Depression, and in early December of
that year, Admiral Nagumo, ordered his six carriers to turn into the wind.
If only to pass on memories of sacrifices made to
the younger generation, this site will be the repository of a collection of photos and artifacts of our history- a
place to view images and artifacts from our past and present. We are in a
new war now, and similar sacrifices will be required of the younger
generation.
This page still under construction. I am looking forward
to hearing from you soon. Check out the links below for more information.
