Harry Clifford Taylor

Harry Clifford Taylor, 84, Zanesville, longtime area businessman and
former owner of C.W. Taylor & Sons Inc. (Construction Company),
passed away at 3:59 p.m. Saturday July 21, 2007 at Genesis Good
Samaritan Emergency Room.
Harry
was born in Zanesville on Jan. 28, 1923 to the late Charles Walter
and Bessie Barnett Taylor. Harry was a member of Central
Presbyterian Church, Homebuilders, Zanesville Jaycees, Zanesville
Ducks Unlimited, and Zanesville Country Club. Harry served our
country and protected our freedom by serving in the US Army under
the direction of General Patton during WWII. Harry was a very big
supporter of the B-17 Sentimental Journey that flies into Zanesville
annually.
Harry
is survived by his wife Bobbi Barbara Dickerson Taylor whom he
married Oct. 3, 1943, three daughters Linda (Rick) Summers of Cape
Coral, Fla., Kathy (David) Lighthizer and Jan (Dan) Foshee both of
Zanesville; six
grandchildren, Randy Jackson of Phoenix, Az., Lori Erwine of
Zanesville, Adam Lighthizer of Zanesville, Andy Lighthizer of
Newark, Shannon Jenkins of Ft. Worth, Tex., and Sean Summers of
Nashville, Tenn.; and nine great-grandchildren.
In
addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers
Gerald Taylor, Fred Taylor, and Howard "Bus" Taylor and
two sisters Verna Cave and Helen Bauer.
Calling
hours will be 2-6 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at
The Snouffer Funeral Home, 1150 W. Military Road, Zanesville.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday July 24, 2007 in the
Snouffer Chapel with Kurt Dittmar officiating. Burial will follow in
Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors provided
by George Selsam VFW Post 1058.
