This web site came into being because a group of us were researching our German families  from Eastern Europe. Individually, we had purchased roles of microfilm and other records.  Each of us studied these, along with records from various municipal and  national archives, books of history, and town records. Some of us even paid for private researches of our family's history and were still dissatisfied with our progress.  

Gradually, we became aware of one another's existence and decided to pool our information and other resources to form the Catholic Germans from Russia and Romania website.  We offer  these materials freely for the benefit of all who have descended from or have ties with the Catholic Germans from Russia and Romania.

Most of the submitters of family trees may be contacted directly through links to their emails on the Surname pages or the Contributors page.  If there is no link to them on those pages, you may email us and we will attempt to put you in touch.
